Can We Keep Him?

Last night we got the band back together. Ever since Kaitlin returned home from her mission, we have all been too busy to do anything. That's the thing about life, I swear the older you get the more quickly time slips away. FINALLY, it happened last night. We met at Olive Garden and chatted the night away. The thing I love about my friends is that there is NEVER a dull or quiet moment. I swear everyone in the restaurant was staring at us because we were so loud and probably a little obnoxious. Come on though, it's been 18 months!
Cassidy's dog recently had puppies and so we continued our chatting underneath the umbrella of trees in her backyard holding the cute little fur balls. These baby rottweilers were probably the cutest and most cuddly things I've ever laid my eyes on. There were six of them and we just couldn't get enough. I should have videoed Kaitlin. She was hilarious with them, flipping them around... These little pups were to hard not to let go. To bad they were already sold or we would have had a third member of our family.

Hike to Silver

Austin and Lauren invited Taylor and I to go on a hike this morning up to Silver Lake. We meet them up, got some lunch and heading up the canyon to experience the great outdoors. We live in such a beautiful place, to be able to drive 5 minutes up the and see this... WOW. We rolled down the windows and let the mountains take us away. After passing the extremely overcrowded Tibble Fork reservoir, the truck took us higher and higher until the reservoir resembled a small pond. We found the trail head and started out our hike. It was around 3pm so it was extremely hot but the trail was pretty shaded at the bottom, which we were thankful for. As we went along our conversations consisted of our futures, dream vacations, work, and potential  job ideas (the boys). We got to the top in a decent amount of time, we sped walk the whole thing passing hikers left and right. It got steep towards the end but we made it, boy was it a sight! We wore our swimsuits just in case, but it was way to windy at the top to get in the water. We would have frozen. So instead we took pictures, that's a given.

So when I asked to get on Taylor's shoulders he responded with, "Honey, we are not children anymore." haha.
But the truth is... we will always be children at heart.
 I spy a handsome husband!

Family Festivities

We were so lucky to be able to spend the fourth with both of our families. In the morning we went up to Liberty to watch all the nieces and nephews in the Liberty Day's Parade. They all did such a cute job! Afterwords we watched all the kids chase around chickens and greased pigs. Can I say that it was quite entertaining! All these children running around after one chicken, then once coming close enough becoming to scared to even grab it. ha. The whole crowd screaming..."GRAB IT SON!" We had a BBQ at mom and dad DeHart's after Liberty Days. Then it was time to head back down to Highland.
We had another BBQ with the Smith side of the family (already stuffed from before). Then we playing minute to win it, splitting into two teams. It was very  competitive and intense. The video below doesn't even do it justice.... at the end we all had tears rolling down our faces we were laughing so hard! It was another amazing fourth of July!
