14 Weeks

This week I am14 weeks pregnant. Yesterday I was 14 weeks and two days pregnant... that's 100 days of pregnancy! WOAH! When you put it like that, it seems like FOREVER! But to be honest it's flown by. I am just eager to see this baby again. ....Hopefully at our next doctors appointment in three weeks! I do have to say that I am thrilled to be out of the first trimester. Although I was blessed not to have been too sick, that constant nauseous feeling isn't fun (at all). It's difficult to explain. Especially when your sweet husband is trying to sympathize. It's like being car sick ....constantly ....oh and with the flu. That's the best way to explain it. But don't get me wrong, it's well worth it!

This week our little babe is the size of a lemon! The development of a baby amazes me. It's truly a miracle. One week it's the size of a sesame seed and a few weeks later it's the size of a lemon! This week many more developments are happening. Baby is standing up straight, growing hair and eyebrows, the roof of it's mouth is forming, and the ears are moving around the sides of it's head (I wonder if they have their daddy's cute ears?!).

How Far Along: 14 Weeks

Size of Baby: Lemon!

Weight Gain: Humm, let's just say it's started.

Maternity Clothes: The bump has not made too big of an appearance yet. I have bought a few things for down the road, but i'm not currently wearing them quite yet.

Sleep: Sleeping is difficult because it is interrupted with multiple potty breaks in the middle of the night. I feel so bad for Tay because he wakes up every time. Practice for when the baby comes, right?

Food Cravings: So far along in my pregnancy I haven't craved anything like mad. When I was nauseous all I wanted was toast... and bagels with cream cheese. Fruit always sounds good. Also whatever looks good on T.V. at that moment, no matter what time it is. The other night we were watching Parenthood and they were making peanut butter and jellies... I looked at Tay and said, "I NEED A PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY!" So I made him come downstairs with me and make some midnight snacks. He is amazing.

Sick: Nausea is gone. ALLELUIA! At night and in the mornings it still takes me awhile to feel 100%.  I still am always tired. I could nap all day long. The headaches come and go.

Baby DeHart Coming September 2015

Guess what? WE ARE EXPECTING!!!
Yes, I know, even now I still can't believe it! But it's true, Baby DeHart is coming this September! Our little family of two will be made three in these next few months and we couldn't be more thrilled about it! We found out about 7 weeks ago... trust me when I say this news is SO hard to keep a secret! I'd like to take you back to that night we found out we would be parents. It was one of the best nights of my life.

January 20: I went on a work trip to Dallas, Texas. While I was there I got super sick in the middle of the night one night. I thought I was going to die. I was super dizzy, nauseous, and could not cool down for the life of me. I had to dump my head in ice water to finally feel some sort of relief. So the next morning I texted Taylor joking him saying "I'm totally pregnant!" I explained to him the story and he agreed. We had taken a pregnancy test a few weeks earlier and it was negative. I had thought somewhere in the back of my mind, what if i'm pregnant?,  and was so excited at just the thought of it. So when it was negative it kind of crushed me. So this second time around, I didn't want to get my hopes high. The day I got home from Dallas we took a trip to the grocery store on the way home from the airport. The uncertainty was killing us. By the way, buying pregnancy tests is SO awkward. Especially when it's the only item in your cart. Oh the looks you get... ha. When we got home I ran into the house as fast as I could. I think I had even started unbuttoning my pants before I was even close to the bathroom. My heart thumped. I had a feeling in my gut that I was pregnant but at the same time I had to keep telling myself it might be negative again. Taylor came into the bathroom and we both just stared at that little stick that determined our future. We waited, stared, waited, and then stared some more. Then we watched the dark line travel across the screen. It began to read... PREGNANT! We both were speechless and awestruck. We were in complete shock. Taylor yelled, "What does that mean?!" ... but in all reality we knew what that plus sign meant. I had to double check it with the box about a trillion times. Yes, plus means pregnant! I can't even explain the emotion that was in that tiny little bathroom. Taylor picked me up and I began to tear up a little but that was soon broken up with laughter. WE ARE HAVING A BABY! We could not wrap our heads around it. Taylor had the biggest smile across his face and i'm sure I did as well. It still is hard to believe. It doesn't feel quite real. Our little baby is growing inside of me! We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father to trust us with one of his precious children. Each day I look down at my belly (it's more like a pudge right now) I am just filled with joy and gratitude.

Isn't he going to be the cutest daddy EVER?! I can't get over it!

Piece by Piece

Most of our boxes are now unpacked and organized. Who knew it would take so long. I have loved organizing cupboards as I fill them with our things. It feels like a fresh start. Like a breath of fresh air.  Organizing and getting rid of old things just feels good.

Here are just a few little pieces that are starting to come together....

Who doesn't love succulents? Real ones are impossible. Fake ones on the other hand are much more doable. Target has some of the best "live" looking succulents i've seen around.
Back when we were preparing for our wedding we had ordered succulents for our wedding to give out as thank you's. There were about 300 succulents in my parents house all over the living room for weeks. As my sweet mother tried to nurture them it seemed like they just continued to slip away. Each day more and more would die. We tried to research how to care for them. They need water once a week, you need to soak the soil once a day... the advice went on and on. But apparently we did it all wrong because eventually all of them died. We had heard that they were so easy to care for and that's why they sounded so appealing. One day we will learn how to care for succulents. Until then, Target succulents it is.

I am absolutely obsessed with pillows. Growing up there were always about fifteen pillows on every bed and couch in our house. Every where you looked...pillows. The karate chopped kind (that's a special technique for fluffing pillows). I found these adorable pillows at a variety of places. I found half of them at Gordmans. It seems like a weird place but I promise they have great deals. All their pillows were on sale so I got them for $5 each. Target right now also has a great line of gold items, including gold pillows! YAY! The rest of the pillows I found on Etsy. Those ones were a little more expensive but to add some patterns in there it was worth it.
Our next project is finishing our kitchen table. The legs are the last thing we need to work on. It's just a matter of finding the time. Where does the time go? That's my big question.

Pentatonix

For Christmas my parents gave the whole family tickets to the Pentatonix concert. We are all a little bit obsessed with this group. They are an a cappella group that started out on the TV show The Sing- Off and they are absolutely INCREDIBLE!
Little did my parents know when they bought tickets that Floor General Admission meant literally you are standing on the floor. We got there and they said,  "on the computer when we ordered them there were pictures of little seats. Shouldn't there be seats?" We were all perfectly happy with standing, we explained that this is how we do concerts. So we initiated them into their first "floor" concert. The funniest thing was looking around at the crowd around us and seeing all the other parents and families that had that look on their face that said, we thought there were seats. Very interesting crowd.
It was such a fun time as a family to listen, dance and sing along to this fun group. At one point they even came out into the crowd. We weren't close enough, but I mean 10 feet away... that was pretty cool. I can't even imagine how exhausted you would be after singing for a straight hour. Not only singing, but being the actual instruments as well. Mind blowing.

Our First Home

On Friday we signed for our FIRST HOME! I can't believe that this day has finally come. When you are so excited for something I feel like time tends to go  v e r y   s l o w l y. Although this process has felt slow, it actually has been quite fast. From finding this cute little community of first time homes in August to closing in February... AND NOW WE ARE HERE!

Usually I would be disappointed about the minimal amount of snow that we have received this year because it would mean less ski time, but it was because of the nice weather that construction was able
to move along so quickly. I was happy about that... I'm sorry to all of you that were praying for snow.

Designing a house together was quite possibly one of the funnest things we have ever done. To envision the place that we will start our family and rise our first children...such an exciting thing!

Deciding colors with a partially color blind person is always exciting. Considering... I think we did pretty good.

I'm happy to say that we are all unpacked (Big sigh of relief!) thanks to our amazing family that got us all moved in, in one night! P.S. If you are ever moving in and you hit that exhausted plateau, the song"Eye of the Tiger" will liven things up again! Worked wonders. Everyone had their game face on after that.
Moved in: Check. Organized on the other hand, we will need to do more of that down the road.

We almost burned down the house the second morning here. So that wouldn't have been good. We got home from church and I turned the oven on to cook lunch. Little did I know that all of our manuals to operating the appliances were put there, real great location. Ha. By the time the oven reached 150 degrees I began to notice a funky smell. Both Tay and I looked at each other and opened the oven. The papers were mere seconds from catching fire. Luckily we saved them. But, not in time. Every fire alarm in the house went off synonymously. The next 10 minutes was spent plunging our ears and running around the house frantically attempting to stop the horrible noise. As we ate our mozzarella sticks we laughed. We had almost burnt down everything we had just worked for.

Can't wait to start making this house a home!
