The Mountains Are Calling

It hasn't snowed like this in years. So of course, we had to take advantage.
If we could, we would be on the mountain skiing 24/7. But, with school, work, and a baby... that's not very likely. So when we can sneak away to go, we shred hard!
We haven't been since Vail bought Park City and joined it with Canyons. So we had to go exploring. We skied both sides of the resort. It is HUGE! We decided that next time we are going to have to just pick a side to stay on because getting to and from takes a bit. There is so much terrain.
The first day it always takes a second to get back in the saddle. Your muscles are also not used to working that exact way. So by the end of the day on your 5th mogul run... YOU FEEL IT! Wow, do we sound old or what? I'm telling you... parenthood changes your body!

It was such a perfect day.

It felt good to be back!

Gotta cover up that helmet hair!

Everett's 4 Month Update

As you can tell Everett has grown quite a bit in the last four months. I think month 1-2 was the biggest difference. He was SO TINY! It's crazy looking back at pictures and thinking how small he was. You never notice while you're in the moment. He has grown right before my eyes.
Yesterday he had his 4 month appointment and he is looking great!

16 pounds, 5 ounces and 72 percentile

25.5 inches and 60 percentile

16.5 inches and 56 percentile

Here's what Everett has been up to this last month:

- E is the smiliest baby. It's simple. You just have to look at him and smile and BAM he will give you the cutest smile that will just melt your heart in return. And he won't just smile for mom and dad, he will smile for just about anyone!

- E is almost rolling over. I know I said that about a month ago. But this time it's serious. He just needs to figure out how to pull his chest and arm over with his leg. Until then, he loves tummy time.

- E loves to suck on anything that's near his face. If we are holding him, he will lunge forward and begin sucking on our arms. It beyond tickles! When he isn't doing that, his little fingers are shoved in his mouth.

- His legs. Let's just talk about his cute CHUBBY CHUBBY legs. He is always kicking them around and smacking the ground. Taylor changed his diaper at church the other day and E kept kicking the changing table so hard that he would cry. Poor little guy doesn't know his own strength!

- E loves to touch daddy's facial hair.

- E is a talkative litte feller. He mostly grunts/ growls. He also has the cutest high pitch sequel when he gets excited.

- E is wearing size 2 diapers. He will soon be graduating out of those once he hits 17 pounds. So i'm thinking it's just a matter of days.

- E is pretty much out of his 3-6 month clothes... at four months. He has started wearing 6 month clothes in Carters. Today I had to put 9 MONTH jeans on him because his 6 month ones wouldn't fit over his chubby thighs. I was dying laughing. 9 months at four months? That a boy.

- Last night we hit a breaking point. Everett slept 6 hours straight. I can't even tell you how good it feels to sleep 6 consecutive hours. HALLELUJAH!

New Year's Week

It was an amazing week up in Promontory with the Smith family. It was beautiful up in Park City. Although it was FREEZING, and i'm talking in the negatives, we bundled up and enjoyed the heck out of each other.

Our little heart throb.

There was a lot of whiping and nae naeing...I just made that a verb.

We brought in the New Year with quite the party!

Taylor kept sneaking away from all the excitement and working on the puzzle the family had started. Who knew he loved puzzles so much?! I sure didn't!

The funniest game. I don't even know the name of it. We could call it, water in the face? Pretty much someone has a bottle cap full of water and thinks of a category. Say it's movies. Then they pick a movie in their head. Then they go around the circle and if you say the movie they are thinking of, you get splashed in the face. I was really bad at it and got water in the face multiple times.

The Pie Face game. This one's pretty self explanatory.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My brother, Conner, put together a little video of our fun night^

Okay, so there is a very funny story behind this picture. As a family we watched the movie Everest. First of all, the movie is crazy intense. As you can see from this picture. I think that we all needed full body messages to relieve all of our knots afterwards. Throughout the movie we would pause it and talk. At one point, my aunt screamed out,
"IT'S MACKLEMORE!!!!" So we looked up the cast list... it must have been a look alike. For some reason every one was in the perfect mood to talk, laugh, and scream. We had such a great time.

All professional looking pictures are done by the beautiful and talented Lauren Chaney. Thanks for capturing these moments and making them memories!

I love this amazing family of mine! We had such a great time together!

Christmas

I have said this a million times and I could say it a million more but the holidays with a baby are so exciting. I can't even imagine what Christmas time is like with a toddler. It always made me sad, thinking of him getting older, but with each month that passes he just gets cuter. Yes, I miss the baby phase, but I am loving the gummy smiles, the cooing and the kicks.
Christmas came at the perfect time. Taylor finally was able to take a break from school and we were able to just be together as a family. We were able to fit some pretty killer snuggle sessions in over the break.
My parents house is always such a magical place during Christmas. Growing up, there would be a Christmas tree in EVERY single room and there still is to this day. On Christmas Eve we had a wonderful meal with the traditional ham, sweet potatoes, broccoli, rolls, and the infamous smith pomegranate jello salad.

This little man was more than ready for santa to come^

Although it's blurry... this is one of my favorite photos of Christmas morning.

Grandpa and Grandma Smith gave Everett this fun play center for Christmas. As you can tell, he was pretty thrilled about it. It's like they read his mind.

So I think it's safe to say that the hover board was one of the gifts to get this year. Although we didn't get one, we got a lot of exposure to them as we hopped from family to family. The first time Taylor tried to ride one was at my parents on Christmas morning. He stepped on hesitantly and the wobbled back and forth for a bit. My dad and brother were on both side of him just in case things got out of hand. After he felt a little more comfortable with it he started going a little faster. I was videoing with the camera a couple feet in front of him and he started coming towards me and said ," I'm going to come give you a hug!" I quickly started backing up, not thinking that this was a good plan, and went around a corner in the house. He, of course, followed. Then BAM! The hover board hit the wall, the paint flew off the wall, and Taylor slipped and slammed onto his back. I almost peed my pants laughing so hard. The great thing is I was videoing the whole thing, so we can go back and relive that moment again and again.

We were glad that we woke up to a white Christmas (3 feet of fresh snow) but we were a little worried about the drive to Taylor's parents, seeing that their house is two hours north. Thankfully in the afternoon it cleared up just long enough for us to make the drive. When we got to their house we were welcomed with a delicious meal and cheesecake for dessert. Taylor was mocking me as I took this picture of my cheesecake.

But let's get real how festive is this picture?!

After Everett went to bed we were finally able to have some Christmas smooches!

Hope everyone had an amazing Christmas and spent it with the ones you love most. I know I sure did!
