Happy Easter

So I know I am very over due on posting about Easter. What was it like 2 weeks ago? oops. Things have been busy, but the biggest reason - I will have to blame my computer for. I guess I have "to many pictures" and you could say that there is "no more room" on my computer for more. So Taylor and I ventured out to buy a hard-drive to store all our pictures. Safe to say my computer is working much better since. And we now have EASTER pictures downloaded! I know that Easter 2014 is now history, but this post, and this blog is mostly for me. Almost like a journal to keep pictures, moments and memories! So don't feel obligated to read all the details about our Easter celebrations!
For our first Easter as a married couple we were thankfully able to spend it with both sides of the family! That's one hard thing about this marriage stuff. Can't we just be with EVERYONE all at the same time? ...if only. So the week before Easter we went up to Eden for the DeHart side family party. We had a delicious dinner to start off, then it was Easter Egg time. As aunts and uncles to all these cuties, it was our job to hide the eggs. We started off hiding them in THE BEST secretive places. But as we kept reaching into the baskets there were eggs on eggs on eggs. They just kept appearing. With less and less spots to hide them, let's just say many were poured onto the grass. (No difficulty there. Big kids: Save those ones for the littles!) It was game time and the doors were released...

I'm proud to say i've finally been introduced to the Easter Bunny. Yeah. He was totally there. Let's just say some got along with him really well... and others not so much!

You could say the bunny and I hit it off pretty well.
For Easter dinner we went up to Aunt Christy's house. Again dinner and an Easter egg hunt to follow. It's just what you do on Easter right? There was delicious ham that made the best ham sandwiches for days on after. (Thank you Brad)

Anyone seen Cool Runnings? Well, as a part of this family you must know some key quotes from that movie. One of them being, " You want to kiss my egg?"

Cinco De Mayo

FUN FACT: Did you know that in Mexico they don't even celebrate the Cinco De Mayo. There, it's just the 5th of May. Weird.

Did your Cinco De Mayo consist of consist of carne asada, mustaches, horchata, uno, tres leche, and poloroids? I can tell you ours did! Matt and Liz are the best party hosts.  For some reason our husbands think it's hilarious that we always make party plans for our small little get togethers. But come on, it's Cinco De Mayo for crying our loud. There is a need to celebrate!
So dinner was delicious! Tay and I were in charge of dessert and a drink. So what did we do? We did a little run by Costa Vida of course! Tres Leche cake... I didn't have any time to cook. And why take the risk when you know that Costa Vida's will be MUCH better than your first "trail run" Tres leche? Next, the drink. Horchata is most likely one of my favorite drinks. It's SO good. So with little time on hand, Costa Vida also hooked us up with our drink dilemma. Before we left to drive over I decided to pour the Horchata into a glass pitcher, so we didn't look to much like we grabbed everything last minute. Horrible idea. Trying to transport that was torture. Every other bump was Horchata EVERYWHERE! So we show up sticky and covered in Horchata. But the good news is, we saved the majority of it.

To add to the festivities after dinner. Liz broke out her mustache stickers. OLAY. We are all instant mexicans! The only problem with these stickers is that they did not want to stick! Every time we breathed, smiled or moved they would fly off. Serious faces was the only way they would stay! But hey, I think we pull them off pretty well!
Tan divertido!

Anything Can Happen

For my birthday back in March, Taylor ever so sneakily surprised me with concert tickets to Ellie Goulding! I have loved her ever since I heard her song Anything Can Happen. Another little twist to the surprise was that Austin and Lauren were coming along! Since it was Lauren's birthday in March as well, Taylor also gifted them tickets!

Funny moment: Taylor asked Austin back in February if Lauren liked Ellie Goulding. Austin wanting to make sure she did, asked her, "Lauren would you want to go to a Avril Lavigne concert?" I am not quite sure where he pulled that one from because that sounds nothing like Ellie Goulding. ha. She replied, "Hummm I don't know. Not really." haha. So the whole concert we gave Austin a hard time about Avril.

The concert was at the Saltair. Clear out in the middle of nowhere. Has anyone ever been there? I never had, but from what it looked like, I thought we were headed to the middle of nowhere. We decided that we did not want to be shoulder to shoulder being pushed around all concert, so we went upstairs on the second floor and found a pretty good lookout! With just 1 row of heads in front of us...instead of 895.

We definitely did not fit into the crowd that the concert pulled in. We might have stood out just a little bit. ha. The crowds at those kind of things bring in all sorts of people. Note: These concerts are the best to people watch. ha. As soon as Ellie got on stage it was amazing. She is INCREDIBLE live! I thought that her voice was all synthesized but boy was I wrong. Her voice is just that unique! All in all we had a great time at the concert. We laughed so hard, sang so hard and danced so hard! Thanks Ellie for the great night. You're awesome!
